Completed only 30 years ago, this fine Arts and Crafts-style house has great charm and simplicity. It is built entirely of natural materials with hand-crafted fittings. It looks down over the beautiful unspoilt village of Stanton and across to truly breathtaking uninterrupted views. Founded as a charitable trust and built, stone upon stone by young international volunteers, local craftsmen and local people, it opened as a centre for teaching hand crafts. It is also rented as a holiday cottage. |

Enter the main hallway and see immediately that this is a truly special house. The very large sitting room has a long table at one end. The comfortable furniture includes two sofas and various easy chairs. There‘s a stone fireplace, antiques, flagstone floors, oak beams. The south-facing terrace with fabulous views opens off sitting room. |

Upstairs, there are five twin bedrooms, one single bedroom and one bedroom with four single beds, perfect for the children. There are four bathrooms, one with a shower, two with bathtubs and one room with only a tub and basin. |

The gorgeous grounds (two acres) include a sloped garden which is child friendly. Wild flower meadow are home to badgers, foxes, rabbits and green woodpeckers. There are superb views across the valley, over Stanton village and far away to the Welsh Mountains.
Keen ramblers will enjoy the many walks that begin on the doorstep, including the Cotswold Way which runs through the village. Stanton has riding stables, a cricket ground, village church and pub, The Mount, which serves very good meals. It is convenient for touring the entire Cotswolds. It’s convenient to Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Bath. Children will enjoy the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Farm Park and rides on the steam trains at Toddington. Gardeners will find world-famous Hidcote, Snowshill and Kiftsgate gardens all close by. There is excellent shopping and cultural events of all sorts in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Stratford-upon-Avon and Evesham with its river boat rides. London is only two hours away!

house is accessible to travelers who can handle interior stairs with a
stair rail and exterior stairs without a stair rail. It is a
moderate
incline from the village road to the house; however, once in the little
village, the walkways are flat and smooth.
