Shipton, all
on one level, is a converted Cotswold-stone barn. It's rather
Scandinavian,
pale and cool, with stone floors, a high pitched ceiling, ancient
beams. It is filled with natural light.
The open-plan
kitchen/sitting/dining room has a floor-to-ceiling white ceramic
Scandinavian
wood-burning stove, a large cream sofa, a 19th C. blue French sofa, a
deep
armchair. There is a big white rug and white-washed woodwork,
window
seat and bookcases. Modern art and other well-chosen appointments
compliment the casual, but high-style room.

The dining area
has a blue and white table, somewhat Moorish, to seat 6 and a large
cupboard
filled with china.
The Shaker-style
kitchen is superbly arranged and equipped with the highest standard of
appliances and other kitchen items.

A white-carpeted
corridor leads to the two bedrooms. One has twin beds with
blue and pink paisley headboards, blue and white wallpaper, a
beamed
ceiling and and window shades to match the headboards. The en
suite
bathroom has a shower, has slate floor and beige marble tiles.

The second bedroom
has metal 4-poster twin beds, walls of perfect blue, beamed cathedral
ceiling,
off-white curtains lined with blue. The en suite tiled bathroom
has
a shower.

At the other end of the sitting room, is the third bedroom. It has an antique black metal double 4-poster bed, walls of the palest gray, a high-pitched roof, a rose and cream Kilem rug, polished wood floor, antique armoire, cream curtains lined with rose. The en suite bathroom has a marble basin, tub with shower over tub and a bidet.

Doors lead from
the double bedroom and the living room onto the terrace and
orchard.
Around the gnarled and ancient apple trees are deep borders of roses,
peonies,
lilies and poppies. The rooftops of the Abbey are just beyond.
Shipton, Cope
and Bookers are all near to one another, providing a nice grouping for
larger parties.
