Dingle House - Luxury vacation house rental in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland.

The dining room is up two steps at one end of the sitting room. It has a round table that will extend to seat 8. The table is in front of sliding glass doors that open onto the deck. The view takes in the bay and the sky.

The conservatory also has a sitting area for enjoying the water views. There is a large sofa and several rattan easy chairs. There is a dining table here too which also seats 8 comfortably. A pine dresser holds dishes and glassware. The floor is Irish slate. The sliding doors open to a covered patio that faces the bay.

The modern kitchen has a stove, microwave, dishwasher refrigerator-freezer and yellow walls, white cupboards. Windows look to the all-round views of the hills and the water.

A separate utility room has a washer and dryer.

The house has two wings, Burnham, and the slightly smaller Cloosh. Each wing has two bedrooms and two private bathrooms.

In Burnham, one bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king bed (as in our photograph), an armoire, a chest of drawers. Views are to the meadow. The en suite bathroom has a long, deep tub. This bathroom can be accessed from the hall as well as from the bedroom.

The second bedroom in the Burnham wing has a queen bed, a chest of drawers, a dressing table and an armoire. The en suite bathroom has a large tub and a shower stall.

On the other side of the house, the Cloosh wing also has two en suite bedrooms.

One bedroom has twin beds with blue and rust patterned bed covers and mahogany headboards, a dresser with a mirror, an armoire, two small windows that face the water. The en suite bathroom has a shower stall.

This wing has a little sitting room that has a corner Victorian fireplace, art noveau sconces, a TV, a sofa and two easy chairs. Two smallish windows face the bay

In addition to the large patio off the main living room, each wing has a patio with outdoor furniture. This is definitely an outdoor house!

Because of the separate bedroom wings, this house is excellent for a multi-generation family or two families. It is a casual house meant for holidays and easy living.

At the doorstep of the house lies the Dingle Peninsula, a "rich and rare land" where you hear the Irish language and absorb the rich local culture. You'll find a friendly welcome in Dingle Village, a vibrant, popular seaside town that is known worldwide for its music and its craft. There are excellent restaurants, authentic pubs, shopping for art and craft items and books. Fungi, the Dolphin, at the Dingle Aquarium, is right in the village. The Blasket Center is a superb museum dedicated to the rich culture and history of the Blasket Island people. You can see the island fro the Blasket Center and you can go there by hired boat.

There is an abundance of outdoor activities, all in dramatic scenery. Sailing, cycling, walking, horse riding and, of course, many golf courses. The Dingle Peninsula's scenic drive, including Connor Pass, is truly spectacular. The Ring of Kerry drive, longer than the Dingle Peninsula drive, is another amazing experience. The Skelligs and the Blasket Islands are day trips that will stay in your mind forever.

Children are warmly welcomed, but they must be closely supervised as the house is right on the water. One well-behaved dog might be allowed.

It's a flat walk into the village, 1 mile / 1.6 km. Shannon Airport is 107 miles / 171 km. Galway City is 157 miles / 250 km. Dublin is 213 miles / 340 km.
