This seaside cottage has just undergone a major renovation that transformed an old, drafty fisherman’s cottage into a charming, gracious home from home.  We saw the house when it was in the process of being renovated and returned there recently to take more photos that show its completed glory.
 

Still, what we notice first is the incredible view.  You can see it as you drive down the lane to the house.  You can smell the sea air.  You can hear the gulls and the waves.  The house is perched above a small rise, but access to the sandy beach is straight down the road that passes in front of the house.  It takes scant minutes to walk there. 

You'll enter the cottage into a small hallway with light tile floors.   To the left is a large utility room with a washer and a dryer.  To the right is a modern bathroom with a shower.  From the hallway, stairs lead up to the balcony and bedrooms.
 

A bold, geometric area rug in the entrance hall tells you that this is no ordinary cottage.  Straight ahead is the living room.  Three sofas in deep blue suede face the river rock fireplace.  Two easy chairs face the sea views through sliding glass doors that open onto a grassy area.  There are many lovely little details in the room: art, crafts, the way the light moves across the room.
 

The television room is adjacent to the living room.  It can be closed off by doors, but as they are glass, you can view the ocean from here.  The room has warm green walls, a butter-yellow leather sofa, easy chair, TV, video player, CD player, a games table.

The beautiful large kitchen/dining room has sea-blue tiles, beautiful appointments, brand new everything.  One window faces the hills; the other window faces the sea.  Birch cupboards hold top-quality, stylish kitchen and serving items.  A light wood dining table seats 8 comfortably.
 

Beyond the living room, the large, private master bedroom has a queen bed and stylish furniture.  The large, white-tiled en suite bathroom has a shower.  There is a large dressing room.  This bedroom has sliding glass doors to a private stone patio and the sea views.  It's gorgeous.
 

Upstairs, the hallway is a balcony above the living area.  Three bedrooms are reached via this balcony.

One bedroom has a double iron bed.  The room is a tad small, but it's very nice and has excellent storage space.
 

Another bedroom has a king bed.  It is a very attractive room with views of the sea.

These two rooms share a bathroom that has blue tiles, a skylight and a tub with shower over tub.
 

Down the hall, there is a very pretty sea-facing bedroom with a king bed that can convert to twin beds, excellent cupboard space, pine ceilings.  The small en suite bathroom has a shower and a sky light.

The house is just a few minutes west of Dingle, a pretty fishing town well known for its restaurants, excellent shops and for its music - Dingle is a music town.  It's at the tip of the fabulous Dingle Peninsula, a wonderfully scenic area.

You can walk into Dingle village along the cliffs in 20 to 30 minutes - one of the best walks in Ireland.  It's over some small fences and through fields so it's not for a lazy walker, but it's not challenging.  Or you can walk along a high back road that overlooks the harbor.  It's incredibly beautiful.  This takes about 35 to 40 minutes.
 

Be sure to visit Dingle’s beautiful Great Blasket Island Center, a beautiful building that has a permanent exhibit honoring the residents of Blasket and traveling art exhibits, most recently the gifted artists who live in the area.   If you can, travel to The Skelligs, two nearby islands that were home to early monks.

County Kerry is a golf mecca - the most famous golf courses in Ireland are in Kerry.
