This brand new stone house is on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Great Blasket Island and Dead Man Island.  The Dingle Peninsula has a beautiful scenic drive that goes around the tip of the peninsula.  The house is located on a little road off that drive, up a rather rough, but short, track called a boreen.  It is a substantial, traditional house with large rooms; all but two face the sea.  The views are breathtaking.

The front door is at the back of the property, away from the views.  Enter into the large hallway that has a finely hand-crafted wrought iron and wood staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms.  We'll see those soon, but let's take a look downstairs first.

On the left of the entry hall is the very large farmhouse kitchen that has ceramic tiled floors, custom-made oak cupboards, top-of-the-line appliances including a washer/dryer.  The large, open dining area faces the views.  A custom-made dresser holds pottery and dishes.  The beautifully crafted dining table seats 8 - 10.

Off the kitchen, there is a large conservatory.  You can see the ocean and Great Blasket Island from there and the house’s gardens.  A  year-round brook provides the sound of water.  Two French doors lead from the conservatory to a private sun deck and barbeque next to the brook.

The living room is on the other side of the entry hall.  It is a large, bright room done in beige and tans so as not to distract from the views.  There is a brick fireplace, comfortable Italian leather sofas and easy chairs, oak floors.  This room is all about casual comfort and the incredible views of sky and sea.  There is a satelite TV and DVD player.  Double French doors open onto a sea-facing deck.

There are two bedrooms on the main level.  One bedroom has twin beds and other contemporary furniture.  The beds can be pushed together and a king duvet can be provided.  The second bedroom has a standard double bed and contemporary furniture.

The hallway bathroom has mosaic tiled walls, tiled floor and a free-standing deep soaking tub for two.  This is the perfect place to relax after a day of touring.

Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms.  The spacious master bedroom has a king sleigh bed and fabulous views of the sea and sky.  The en suite bathroom has a large shower cubicle.

The second bedroom has a queen sleigh bed.  The en suite bathroom has a shower.  The third bedroom has twin beds.  The beds can be pushed together and a king duvet can be provided.  This room can either share one of the upstairs en suite bathrooms or use the downstairs bathroom.

Dingle Town, 10 minutes from the house, is a pretty fishing town well-known for its restaurants, acquarium, excellent art and craft shops and for its music - Dingle is a music town.  Be sure to visit Dingle’s Great Blasket Island Center, a beautiful building that has a permanent exhibit honoring the residents of Blasket Island plus traveling art exhibits, most recently by some of the many gifted artists who live in the area.   If you can, travel by boat to The Skelligs, two nearby islands that were home to early monks.

The area offers  an abundance of outdoor activities to be enjoyed, all in dramatic scenery.  Sailing, cycling, walking, horse riding and, of course, many of Ireland’s finest golf courses.  The Dingle Peninsula's scenic drives, including Connor Pass, are truly spectacular.  The Ring of Kerry drive, longer than the Dingle Peninsula drive, is another amazing experience.  Shannon Airport is 107 miles.  Galway is 157 miles.  Dublin is 213 miles.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTICE:

This property is appropriate for people with mild mobility limitations.  While there are two bedrooms on the ground floor, the only ground-floor bathroom has a deep soaking tub and that may be difficult for some people.  The grounds are hilly, but the decks have easy access from inside the house.
