the
impressive
entrance foyer. A large Waterford crystal chandelier hangs over a
round mahogany reception table that always holds a gigantic bouquet
of fresh flowers. You will be greeted by the staff and shown
around the house and grounds. While you are here, this is your
home.

The large and
sumptuous drawing room has elegant, yet very comfortable,
furniture. Three
sofas covered in caramel-color fabric surround the original marble
fireplace. In front of a
window, a separate seating area
has a
graceful table and chairs. A grand piano sits in a corner waiting
for you to play. Art and antiques add a personal touch.

The
opulent furnished
dining room has hosted kings, princes and honored celebrities. The
room seats 24 people comfortably at one long table or up to 30 people
at smaller seating arrangements. The persimmon walls and red carpeting
create a lively background and the antiques and fireplace add a stately
presence. |

The library has sofas
covered with yellow, red and orange plaid fabric, a desk and chair,
tall glass-fronted book
cabinets, a beautiful fireplace, a games table, a TV, DVD,
music. Here, too, special attention has been given to the art and
antiques. Tall windowns look onto the gardens.

All
of the bedrooms are
luxurious, comfortable and beautifully decorated with fine antiques,
lush rugs and rich fabrics. All bedrooms have a remote controlled
color
television, DVD/video player, CD/clock radios, a telephone and a
safe. Every bedroom has a fireplace.

THE JOYCE BEDROOM has a
king-size brass bed, a beautiful, large walnut wardrobe with a mirrored
door, a cabinet
that holds a TV and DVD player, a round walnut and brass table.
There is a quaint antique single bed in the annex off this bedroom that
is
suitable for a child or an adult. Walls are painted a luscious
blue-green. The en suite bathroom has a shower. |

THE CHAMBERLAIN
BEDROOM has
an antique brass and iron queen bed and a matching single bed.
There is pretty pink and cream floral-patterned wallpaper and bright
white woodwork. Complementary fabric adorns the windows.
There is
an antique walnut chest of drawers, black and white drawings on the
walls, comfortable seating. This is a very gracious room.
The en
suite bathroom has a tub with shower over tub.

THE
HUSTON BEDROOM has an antique iron and brass king bed, warm
yelow-orange
walls, deeper orange curtain fabric, an antique chest of drawers, two
comfortable, deep orange wing chairs. A round table and two
chairs
are in front of the French doors that open to a stone patio. The
en
suite bathroom has a shower.

THE BURKE
BEDROOM has a king
bed that can convert to twin beds (the headboard is the top of a
grand piano!). There are two comfortable club chairs, a chest of
drawers, a
graceful small table and two chairs in front of a large bay
window. Walls are warm beige; the curtain fabric is a deep russet
color. The
large en suite bathroom has a tub with shower over tub.

THE EYRE BEDROOM is very
dramatic. It has a massive antique mahogany king-size bed, a
chest
of drawers and an armoire. Two wing chairs are covered in large
black
and beige checks. Wallpaper has wide vertical stripes in black
and beige and the windows are covered in rich
orange and yellow fabric. There is an antique round occasional table
and two
smaller chairs. The huge en suite bathroom has a tub with shower
over tub.

THE O'HARA BEDROOM is a bit
smaller than the rooms already described, but it's no less
beautiful. It has a queen bed, a chest of drawers, a
mirror-fronted
armoire, a small tea table with two delicate chairs, a window bench
in front of a tall window that looks onto the grounds. Walls are
rich blue, curtain fabric is a gorgeous blue, black and beige
print. This is a wonderful room. The en suite bathroom has
a tub with
shower over tub.
THE THORTON BEDROOM has an
antique brass and black iron bed, an antique armoire in a corner, a
chest of drawers, a wing chair covered in beige-black-cream plaid
fabric. Walls are yellowy-cream; the window shade and curtain
fabric
is green and orange striped. The large tiled bathroom has a tub
with
shower over tub.
THE ROBINSON BEDROOM has a
brass king bed that can convert to twin beds. A large Sheraton
desk
and chairs sit in front of a window and an antique armoire and chest of
drawers provide storage. Two comfortable wing charis are covered
in a sort of patchwork fabric. Walls are rich beige-tan and the
curtain and window bench fabric is a
gorgeous, rich orange-green-tan floral fabric. The en suite
bathroom has a
tub with shower over tub.
THE GRIFFIN BEDROOM is Merv
Griffin's bedroom and it's available to guests when he isn't in
residence. It is very large and stately. It has an antique
mahogany
king 4-poster bed, an armoire, a chest of drawers, a tea table and
two chairs. A large gilt-framed mirror hangs above a decorative
fireplace. Two comfortable wing chairs covered in an orange and
lime
harlequin design sit in front of the large bay window that looks out
onto the lush grounds. Walls are covered in soft green and lemony
yellow striped fabric. Curtains are orange and lime green
checks. There is a masculine dressing room with mirrors and
serious cupboard
space.
The
large bathroom has a sunken tub with original swan taps and there is
a separate shower stall as well.

Just
adjacent to the
mansion is THE ANGELICA SUITE, a small separate octagonal guest cottage
that has one bedroom and one bathroom. Once the bedroom of
Angelica
Huston, it is beautiful, serene and very private. It has a
king-size brass
and iron bed, an armoire, a chest of drawers, two wing chairs
upholstered in an orange, beige and brown floral pattern. A
fireplace warms the room on cold evenings. A cherry occasional
table
and two chairs are the perfect place for tea. The en suite
bathroom
has a shower over tub.

THE YEATS BEDROOM is simple and
restful. There is a beautiful king bed, an armoire, two easy
chairs
covered in rich red fabric, a desk and a chest of drawers. The
walls are painted a soft, light beige. We like this room for it's
quiet
grace. The bathroom has white tiles and a tub with shower over
tub.

THE
McDONAGH BEDROOM has an antique queen bed and a single
bed. It has an easy chair, an armoire and a chest of
drawers. This is a smallish room, but it is very comfortable and
soft. We wish we had taken more photos of this room and we'll try
to have more for you. The bathroom has a tub and shower over tub.

The house is on 45
beautiful acres. Roam the exquisite grounds which have specimen
trees, fountains and a profusion of marvelous flowers. There is a
par
3 golf course on the property. Horseback riding, tennis, hunting
and
18-hole championship golf courses are all available nearby and can be
arranged for you by the gracious and knowledgeable staff.
THIS
IS NOT A SELF-CATERING PROPERTY. The entire mansion is rented
with a
full staff. The property operates as a luxury guest house if it's
not booked as an exclusive house rental. Full Irish Breakfast is
included. Dinner is separate as you probably will want to be out and
about many evenings. The kitchen is cook's domain, but the staff
will prepare almost anything you want. They pay special attention
to
specific dietary needs.
Children are warmly
welcomed here. Dogs may be accepted with prior arrangement.
There
is a laundry room in the house that you may use.
