to return to the IRELAND VACATION RENTALS Page |
| Accommodates
6 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms This
is a new cottage that leaves a strong impression of days long
ago.
It is located on a bluff above the sea at the edge of the Burren.
It has sweeping views of the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. |

Enter a welcoming hallway to the left of which is the eat-in kitchen. It is a bright room with yellow walls, multi-colored slate floor, a gas oven and hob, a large refrigerator/freezer, microwave and other modern equipment. Dishes and similar items are generous and well-chosen. The table seats 6 - 8. A utility room has a washer and dryer, space for outdoor gear, a back door to the driveway.

A conservatory, just off the kitchen, has panoramic views of the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher and the rolling countryside. The owner built the twig furniture - we were very impressed!

|
The living room has the most amazing views. It is warmly furnished with comfortable sofas, easy chairs, oak floors, pretty personal items, a fireplace with a wood stove insert. Down a short hallway are three nice bedrooms. |

A
blue bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. This room will
work
best for two people. While not large, it is light and airy. |

The
third bedroom has a standard double bed. Fabrics are blue and
green;
as in the other bedrooms, furniture is knotty pine. |

|
A hallway bathroom has a tub with shower-over-tub. The blue double bedroom has a door that opens into this bathroom so this bathroom can be regarded as its en suite bathroom if no one is in the blue-green bedroom. While
there is not yet a patio, there is a sea-facing grassy area with
outdoor
furniture and a barbecue. |

Children are warmly welcomed here. This
tranquil haven offers walking and touring through spectacular
scenery.
Wild goats, badgers, foxes, birds and unique flowers can be seen on
this
unspoiled land. It’s a fascinating area for botanists,
ornithologists
and geologists. There are beautiful, long sandy beaches (Fanore
and
Lahinch). |
|
Lisdoonvarna
is noted for its spa water and for its Matchmaker festival in September
(rent the movie Matchmaker and learn about that!). Nearby,
there’s a swimming pool, horse riding and many golf courses, including
fabulous Lahinch, Gort and Ballybunion. The nearest beach is
Fanore, 8 miles by the coast road and about 4 miles cross country over
the hills. Lahinch Beach is 10 miles from the cottage.
Doolin
village, 5 minutes from the cottage, is famous for its pubs, shopping
and
music. The sunset from Doolin pier is worth the price of the
trip. Ailwee
Caves, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
are all very near.
Shannon Airport is 1 hour. Galway is a bit over 1 hour. Dublin is 4 hours. |
Although
this property does not have wheelchair access, people with moderate
mobility
limitations should be comfortable here as there are no stairs.

Heating & Electricity are extra, charged at cost by meter readings. A damage security deposit of € 350 is due on arrival. |
