Accommodates 6 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms This lovely, traditional cottage is down a country road from Kenmare village.  The cottage, the back of which looks onto Kenmare River, is private, comfortable, spacious and very pretty.  The front garden has an ancient wisteria, roses, other lovely plants.  You will feel welcomed even before you enter the cottage.

Enter into a small vestibule and a front hall that has green wainscoting.  To the right is the kitchen.  It has a white Aga stove, an electric hob, two wall ovens, a refrigerator.  The wall has flowered tiles; the cabinets are painted yellow.  Windows look out to the front garden.  A large utility room has the washer and dryer, a sink and excellent storage.

The living room is straight back from the hall.  It’s a wide room that has a stone fireplace and wood floors.  There is a comfortable sofa covered in white fabric, occasional chairs, a home entertainment cabinet.  Large windows overlook the grounds at the back of the property and the river.  A door opens onto a slate terrace and the gardens.  You can walk from there to the woods and the river.  (Please note that the photo on the right shows the room before the new sofa arrived; the middle photo shows the white sofa.)

To the right of the living room, the large, open dining room has the same views of the woods and the river.  The table seats 8 comfortably.  A built-in cupboard holds china and other dining niceities. The dining room opens to a light and bright sun room that, too, has river views and a door that opens to the slate terrace.   There are hand-painted tables and chairs, a stone floor.  This is a wonderful room in which to feel part of that beautiful view.

The grounds at the back of the house are beautiful.  The large slate terrace has outdoor furniture.  If you can tear yourself away, you can walk to the to the bridge over the river’s inlet and do a bit of fishing.

The house is located just yards from the tidal waters of the Kenmare River.  It has views of the River and the Caha Mountains.  The house is well-located for fishing: Tahilla and Rossdohan Piers are just a short distance.  There are two excellent 18-hole golf courses in Kenmare and others within a short drive.  Kenmare is a very actilve, pretty prosperous village that  has many shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants.  Kenmare is right on the Ring of Kerry.

This property is accessible to anyone who has mild to moderate mobility limitations.  The doors can accommodate a small wheelchair and one of the bathroooms is large enough for a person in a wheelchair who has assistance.
