This traditional thatched cottage, dating from 1800, is at the entrance to the village of Adare, which many call the most beautiful village in Ireland.  The cottage is in a thatched terrace row, right on the High Street. The owner, who was born and raised in this cottage, remembers when the High Street was a quiet road.  It is now the main avenue of a bustling village.  Located right next to the Adare Manor Golf Resort, the cottage is simple, but, like its owner, generous in spirit.

One enters into the keeping room, once the main eating and living area of the cottage.  There is an fireplace, once used for cooking, and a dining table.

To the back of the keeping room is the fully fitted kitchen.  It has all you'd want for a holiday home: hob, stove, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer.  There is a generous supply of kitchen necessities, including dishes and glassware. One of the bathrooms is off the corridor from the kitchen to the back yard.  It has a shower cubicle.

There is a porch, also off the kitchen, that leads to a nice enclosed and private paved garden with a round stone dining table and a barbecue.

To the left of keeping room, by the front door, is a small sitting room, once the owner's parents' bedroom.  A fireplace, comfortable furniture and a window looking onto the High Street create a cozy atmosphere. There are two colorful and comfortable bedrooms, each of which has a queen bed and a single bed.   The yellow bedroom has en suite bathroom with a shower cubicle.

In order to reach the yellow bedroom and the bathroom, you have to walk through the pink bedroom.
 

Although the house is on the High Street, the walls are thick so one is not troubled by traffic noise unless one is very sensitive.  The bedrooms are located at the quiet back of the cottage.

Parking for three vehicles is private and off street - right in front of the cottage.  Superb restaurants and excellent shopping are on the doorstep.  In addition to Adare Manor (literally next door), there are at least 8 golf courses within an hour of Adare (Adare, Charleville, Limerick, Limerick County,  Ballybunion Links, Lahinch, Killarney, Tralee).  Fishing and horse riding are nearby, as are wonderful countryside walks.

Children are warmly welcomed here.  A child's cot and high chair are available.  Baby sitting can be arranged.

Shannon Airport is  20 miles.  Limerick City is 11 miles.  Galway is  75 miles.  Dublin is 130 miles.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTICE:

This is an excellent property for those with limited mobility.   There are no stairs into the cottage.  The cottage is on one level.  There are no steps to the garden which has a hard, flat surface.  Parking is steps from the cottage door.
