Stairs between those two bedrooms lead up to a very large attic-type bedroom that has twin iron beds tucked under the roof eaves. Tall people, beware! The beds can be pushed together or separated wider on each side of the alcove so that you can walk where the ceiling is full height. A Velux ceiling window allows you to enjoy the night-time sky. The large en suite bathroom has a corner shower and large closets and chests of drawers. | ![]() |

Outside, there are several large terraces, most of which have exquisite water views. The grounds are like a park: mature trees and bushes, wandering pathways, birds, flowers. Stone walls and garden borders provide a lush landscape all around the house. | ![]() |

Garnish Island, just off the coast and easily
seen
from the house, has
magnificent tropical gardens. There are boat trips to the island
every
twenty minutes during high season. The area enjoys the gulf
stream
current which gives this area a sub-tropical climate; indeed, the
house's gardens have banana and olive trees! A bamboo park, a botanical and horticultural paradise, is adjacent to the property. Glengarriff is home to the largest harbour seal population in Ireland; the seals can be viewed from the house. |
| Local
activities include fishing, swimming, horse riding, water skiing,
sailing, diving, wind-surfing, walking along village trails and up
into the hills. There is also mountaineering, cycling, mountain
biking. And, of course, there is golf! Glengarriff Golf Course (9 holes) is a 1-minute drive from the house. Bantry Golf Course, an 18 hole course that faces the sea, is 15 minutes by car. Sheen Falls, a gorgeous 18 hole course, is 30 minutes. Kenmare Golf Course, 18 holes, is also 30 minutes. The famous Ring of Kerry course, 18 holes, is 45 minutes. |
