Across form the house is The Green, a garden square with walking paths. It was once a jousting ground where knights fought in single combat. Now it hosts cricket matches throughout the summer. The house is a 2-minute walk to Richmond Theatre with all its pre West End runs. To the right are two pubs, The Cricketers and The Prince of Wales, a café and shops. In the other direction is Maids of Honour Row where many royals lived. At the end of this terrace is the Gate house to the Palace and The Wardrobe where Elizabeth I kept her clothes. While
this is a quiet neighborhood, there are many bars and clubs in
Richmond.
There are 11 cinimas, and several restaurants within a 2-minute walk of
the house. |
Richmond Train Station, with fast trains to Waterloo and other London stops, is a short walk from the house. Boats to Hampton Court Palace can be accessed nearby. Heathrow is 20 minutes by car. There is very good proximity to M4, M3, M25 motorways.
