Cotswolds wheelchair access luxury vacation rentals cottage - 4 bedroom traditional cottage with 1 wheelchair accessible en suite bedroom.

This very large cottage feels more like a house.  Enter a spacious open-plan living/dining room that has high ceilings and large windows.  It is decorated in elegant Gustavian style, with pale gray walls, white rugs and off-white and gray painted woodwork.  There are two sofas, one with rose and creme checked fabric and one with soft rose linen.  There are luxurious curtains of fine cream-colored linen lined with rose.  Red lacquer trays, crystal sconces and red glassware add drama.

The dining area and kitchen have yellow York-stone floors, an old pine refectory table  to seat 8 on cream-colored antique chairs that have red and creme checked cushions.  Cushion fabric is rose and white. The kitchen has ultra-modern technology: a large side-by-side refrigerator and a 6-burner Britannia stove and two ovens.  Despite the modern equipment, the  impression is warm and homey - thanks to the Belfast sink, Shaker cabinets and beechwood countertops.

One  bedroom is on the main floor.  Designed for wheelchair users, it is, nevertheless, absolutely perfect for any traveler .  The magnificent wallpaper is mauve and white.  There is an antique French wrought iron double bed, a French easy chair upholstered in green, an ivory and black Regency cabinet.  The very large wheelchair accessible bathroom has a low basin, a gigantic shower, grab rails where necessary.

Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms. One has a mahogany queen 4-poster bed, a bureau and 18th C. bedside tables.  Curtains and bed hangings are gold, ivory and tan.  Old prints and needlework scenes hang on the walls.

One bedroom has fine reproductions of early 18th C. French twin beds covered in antique cotton, fabric-covered walls and curtains in off-white and green toile.  The en suite tiled bathroom has a tub with shower over tub. The other bedroom has faux bamboo twin 4-posters beds with bed-hangings in creamy cotton.  The walls are papered in blue and white.  The en suite bathroom has a tub with shower over tub.

There is a parking space reserved for this cottage.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTICE:

Newmarket has a ground floor en suite double bedroom with a shower suitable for wheelchair users.  There are grab rails in the shower and by the toilet.  A wheelchair can roll right into the shower.  The marble topped basin is set low and there is adequate floor room to maneuver a wheelchair.  The car parking space nearest the courtyard is reserved for Newmarket.  There is a paved path across the gravel to provide wheelchair access to the car park and walled garden.
